OK, so if you have to be suited and booted for work do you also have to look dull? No! We girls love a man in a suit, especially if he’s allowed a little of his personality to shine through in a snappy tie or even dare I say it, a pink shirt …Oh yes, nothing says “I’m confident with my masculinity” more than a man in a pale pink shirt.
That aside, how can you make an impact in the office?
- Plan ahead – by this we mean have two or three suits in a similar palette of colours (navy and blue OR browns and beiges) that you know are clean and pressed and ready for Monday morning.
- Choose a range of shirts again in one palette to suit your skin type – as a general rule warm skin tones work best with yellows, creams and beiges, whereas cool skin tones look best in blues, pinks and purples.
- Go for it with the tie. Nothing naff here, please, so dancing penguins and maps of the underground are OUT! However, a tie in a bold print that picks up on the tones you’ve chosen for your shirt will look amazing. Invest in several, good quality ties to ensure you always look and feel great.
- Accessorise well – don’t worry we don’t mean you should carry a handbag to work but a good pair of clean shoes (again stick to your palette), a smart pair of cufflinks and a squirt of something that smells amazing will complete your look and send you out confidently into the working week.
